The Jitterbug Social 2019

Saturday May 30, 2020

Toronto, Ontario

Thank you to everyone who supported this year's Jitterbug Social at the Sony Centre on April 6th, 2019! With your help, we surpassed our goal and raised just over $60,000.00 in pledges, sponsorships, ticket sales, and through the Silent Auction.

The feeling of love, warmth, support and connection filled the room exemplified what DWP holds most important. I am so personally grateful to our special guest performers from the Regent Park School of Music, Jim Creeggan, Mike Evin, Duet Dance Co,  Liza Kalashnikova and her partner, Dominic Who.

It was so moving for me to watch everyone having so much fun on the dance floor and also the laughter and smiles around the room. It was an afternoon celebrating the joy that dance can provide for all of us, whether we are an observer or active participant.

Everyone who donated, danced, collected pledges, and volunteered made this event the success that it was. DWP is very lucky to have so many talented and passionate supporters who help keep our dancers dancing across the city. We have a good thing going and we are so appreciative of everyone's support.

See you in 2020 on the dance floor!

Our wonderful guest performers in 2019:

City TV's Pam Seatle, MC

We are so excited to welcome long-time supporter of DWP Pam Seatle as our master of ceremonies. Pam is a veteran reporter from CityTV News and has helped raise awareness for us through the media. We couldn't be happier to have her on board to MC.

Jim Creeggan is the incredible Bassist from the award winning group 'The Barenaked Ladies'.

In addition to performing for fans around the world Jim is heavily involved in community projects and we are so lucky to welcome him back to collaborate with our DWP dancers and the Regent Park School of Music youth.

The Young Musicians  of Regent Park School of Music

DWP is thrilled to collaborate with the RPSM on a one hour intergenerational workshop in which the young musicians and our DWP dancers will create an original piece of dance and music together that will be performed at the Jitterbug Social for the public
